The Man

Claude Mac is not a name we invented. It belonged to a man — born in 1924, in the deepest era of the Jim Crow South, who came of age in a world that gave him little and earned, anyway, the kind of quiet respect that follows a person into every room. The brand carries his name forward. Everything we make is downstream of the man.

He served at seventeen. He buried his son at sixty. He kept a Cutlass clean and a line in the Potomac, and lived a life worth carrying forward. This brand was built by his grandson.

A Note From the Founder

I’m Shayne Ligon — his grandson. I built this brand to do three things: preserve the stories of men like him while we still can, carry my family forward in the process, and make objects worth handing down. None of that is marketing. It’s the actual work. If you wear something from this brand, you’re wearing his name. I take that personally.
